FX Connectors Privacy Policy

At FX Connectors, we have a longstanding policy of protecting the privacy of our clients. We are dedicated to providing you with the best possible personal service while at the same time protecting your personal information.

On January 1, 2004, the Federal Personal Information & Electronics Documents Act came into effect, which covers the use of personal information and disclosure for all organizations in Canada. In continuing with our policy of protecting the privacy of our customers, FX Connectors has developed our own Privacy Policy, which outlines the privacy principles followed by all staff.  When you first became an FX Connectors client, you entrusted us with your personal information. It is our policy to keep that information between you and us only.

FX Connectors will not disclose any personal information to anyone unless your consent is given. As an FX Connectors client, your consent is implied, and we will continue to use any information you have previously provided for foreign exchange services. Subject to some restrictions, you may withdraw your consent to FX Connectors by contacting our FX Connectors Privacy Officer immediately. Please note, however, that this may limit or even prevent us from providing you with the necessary foreign exchange products and services.

* Canadian carriers require that the privacy policy or terms and conditions explicitly state that end user data “will be shared with telecommunication providers or mobile network operators for the purposes of identity verification”. If this language does not exist in the privacy policy or terms and conditions that your end users agree to, Canadian carriers will reject the application.

As part of our commitment to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality and security of your personal information, FX has adopted the following principles:

  1. Accountability: FX Connectors is accountable and responsible for personal information under its safekeeping. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for FX Connectors compliance with this policy.
  2. Consent: FX Connectors will obtain your consent to collect, use or disclose personal information (except where FX Connectors is required by law or other acts to do so without consent). Your consent can be expressed, implied or given through certified representatives such as an agent, lawyer or broker.
  3. Limits on Collection: FX Connectors only collects information that is reasonable and necessary to provide foreign exchange services. Therefore, any other personal information, unless required, will not be collected or needed.
  4. Identifying Purpose: It has always been FX Connectors policy to inform its clients of the purpose for which the information is collected. Before submitting any information to FX Connectors, clients will be informed of the reasons why their information is required and being collected.
  5. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention: Personal information shall only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected, unless an individual has otherwise consented, or when it is required by law.  FX Connectors will destroy personal information records as soon as it is reasonable to assume retention is no longer necessary.
  6. Accuracy: FX Connectors shall keep personal information as accurate and up-to date as possible in order to meet the purposes for which it is to be used.
  7. Safeguards: Safeguards have been put in place to ensure that no unauthorized access to your personal information occurs. FX Connectors uses electronic, physical, and procedural safeguards to protect our privacy system and all personal information under our custody.
  8. Openness: FX Connectors will provide information to customers regarding our privacy policies and procedures.  Any other information required can be obtained from our Privacy Officer.
  9. Individual’s Access: All FX Connectors customers have the right to access their own personal information. Upon request to our Privacy Officer, an individual will be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of their personal information held under the control of FX Connectors. Individuals are permitted to challenge the accuracy of the information being held and can request that it be changed if appropriate.
  10. Handling Enquiries or Complaints: Any enquiries or questions regarding our privacy policy will be addressed by our Privacy Officer.
